Palos Verdes Estates, CA 8,200 square feet Overlooking the bluffs of Palos Verdes Estates this homes greatest asset is its breathtaking view to the west toward Catalina Island. Purchased by new owners after sitting vacant for many years, this neglected Mediterranean house would finally receive a complete makeover and expansion in the Seaside style worthy of its spectacular site. Profeta Royalty was hired to design an additional 3,100 square feet to include a Guest Bedroom and Bathroom, a Home Theater, and a Great Room with a wine cellar and a trellis covered patio. With the new owners both standing nearly seven feet tall, the existing eight feet high ceilings felt uncomfortably low. To achieve a higher ceiling height the entire ground floor was lowered one foot by cutting off the tops of the existing concrete foundation walls and reframing the floor. |
