Dubbing Stage 12
Burbank, CA
3,100 square feet

Because this space was originally designed in the early
80s as a scoring stage, the acoustics were much livelier
than is acceptable for sound dubbing and mixing. The
biggest challenge facing the design team was to re-tune
the space for dubbing while maintaining the vertical
volume of the stage and the original, sound-reflective
wood elements. To achieve this, sound absorbing fabric
panels were added to the front and rear walls in addition
to a dropped ceiling cloud that acts as a bass trap. The
unusual room shape and variety of materials makes this
one of the more unique dubbing stages on the studio lot.
