When hired to design a new kitchen, family room, master
suite, and swimming pool for an untouched 1941 ranch
style house in Sherman Oaks, Profeta Royalty was
determined to provide a seamless transition between old
and new. The challenge was to add approximately 1,500
square feet that would fit perfectly with the character of
the existing house. This was achieved by following not
only the stylistic cues but also adhering to the volumetric
character of the house. Room sizes, ceiling heights, and
door and window locations were all derived from
traditional 1940’s architecture.
